A fair-like scene was seen in the market at shops selling utensils, electronics items, jewellery, bikes, TVs, fridges, computers, mobiles, almirahs, chairs etc. From gold jewelery shops to shops selling sweets and firecrackers, a crowd of customers was visible. Everyone was seen busy moving from one shop to another to buy some new item on Dhanteras and buy the items as per their wish. On the occasion of Dhanteras, there was massive purchasing of utensils, gold and silver coins, jewelery and electronic goods. At the same time, vehicle agencies also sold vehicles extensively. On this occasion, maximum crowd of buyers was seen in the bike showroom. Kept shopping in the city markets till late night. The atmosphere of Dhanteras was very enthusiastic in rural areas also. The arrangement for buying and selling of goods by businessmen at the shops continued from early morning till late night. Shopkeepers were happy on this occasion. The price of every item seemed to be skyrocketing. The common people were forced to buy goods at increased prices.
Silver coins sold for Rs 900 to Rs 1400
Buying metal on Dhanteras is auspicious. Due to which there was crowd at jewelery shops from morning till late evening. While women were buying neck sets, earrings, nose pins and anklets, men were busy buying rings and chains. Many people were very enthusiastic in purchasing silver coins. There was also a difference in the price of silver coins in different shops which ranged from Rs 800 to Rs 1000. However, coins bearing the portrait of Queen Victoria made during the British rule were sold for Rs 1300 to Rs 1400. Jewelery shop director Vipin Kumar, Sachin Shergill, Gold House director Naresh Kumar, Golden Temple director Rajesh Kumar alias Raja, Manchi Jewelers director Rakesh Kumar, Ruchi Jewelers director Mahesh Kumar etc. said that this time the Dhanteras market was very good. . People bought silver coins and jewelery extensively.
Demand for dinner sets and steel utensils
If we talk about the utensils business on Dhanteras, then there was maximum crowd of buyers at the utensils shops for purchasing. Where there was huge demand for dinner sets and steel utensils. People were seen quite happy purchasing different types of steel, copper, brass utensils as well as cookers, grinder mixer machines and other items as per their needs on Dhanteras. Raju and Kumar, directors of Kitchen King, said that overall there was good sale of utensils this year.
Craze seen for smart TV and fridge
If we talk about electronic goods, the maximum craze among customers was seen in the purchase of smart TV and fridge. While people were preferring big smart TVs, double door fridges were also being liked by the buyers. Director Mahesh Kumar said that this time there was a huge purchase of washing machines, AC, room heater, home theater and other electronic equipment.
There was a huge sale of vehicles also
Like other goods, there was a huge sale of vehicles on Dhanteras. In which maximum number of bikes were purchased. New and latest design bikes attracted the hearts of the buyers in different showrooms of the city. While the youth liked fast sports bikes, girls and women bought scooters in large numbers. There was a crowd in various bike showrooms of the city from morning till evening. The showroom operator had also made special preparations on Dhanteras.
Business worth Rs 10 to 12 crore done on Dhanteras
On the occasion of Dhanteras, people did a lot of shopping. During this period, purchases worth more than Rs 10 to 12 crore were made in the district.
